Heather Jane Shears graduated from the University of Brighton in 2010 with a BA Honors in Illustration. During her time at Brighton her work transformed from traditional illustration to high styling photography and this is what you see today.

Heather wrote her dissertation on 'Construction of femininity within Walt Disney's female characters' and it was through this that the themes for her practicle work took shape.

Stereotypical beauty and alternative femininity are the key themes throughout, but there is also a strong sense of transformation.

Each image contains Heather herself. This proves that the figure truely is a blank canvas and the photography a platform for creating fantasy alter egos.
